The thing is with the world and people now these days is everyone has an opinion. While of course most of them do not agree. One person can believe one thing while the other believes the complete opposite. Therefore, it makes situations more difficult, especially when it comes to political matters. When one feels a certain way about a matter, when presented with something that does not align with their opinion, you run into the not so civil and courteous side of people. I have seen the nasty comments people make to each other when their opinions are different. It is absolutely insane in my opinion. But hey that is just another opinion, right? Imagine a law being passed that you are totally against while someone is for it. We have no control over the law and us complaining about it is not going to help matters. It is only going to cause more separation between people. Is it necessary for us as a society to cut down on each other because you believe in something else? Everyone is entitled to their own opinions. I do believe each person should be about to express that as well BUT I also think we should not be so cruel and hateful about it. So, what I am telling you do is when you are standing for your beliefs on political matters and any matters really consider being civil and courteous when doing so.

We in the blog post by Sarah Cruzan "It would be nearly impossible to write about the many things I do during my 12-hour shift, but I will try to describe a typical day as a postpartum nurse:" Clearly the blog post does have a thesis statement. It explicitly states that she will be describing a typical day as a postpartum nurse. We also see in the article from Dirk "When approaching a genre for the first time, you likely view it as more than a simple form: “Picking up a text, readers not only classify it and expect a certain form, but also make assumptions about the text’s purposes, its subject matter, its writer, and its expected reader” (Devitt, Writing 12). With the bl...
Your post is spot on, it amazes me how people in today's world can react so harshly about any topic or subject especially the political matter, I have seen on social media that people can go as far as doxxing or death threats when people are discussing their opinions.
ReplyDeleteIt's pretty sad how often well-meaning conversations turn into arguments on the drop of a dime, too. Constructive conversation gets harder and harder to have as we divide further.
