Post 4: Professional Blog Analysis

I have always wanted to become an RN, but never took the leap of courage to become one. What finally gave me that final push to take that leap was an experience I have gone through personally. My husband and I got married in 2017 and have been trying to start a family since then. Unfortunately, I struggle with infertility due to some health issues I have. Going through this fertility journey has allowed me the opportunity to see the setting inside of the hospitals. I knew that I wanted to be an RN, but I did not know what specialty I wanted to pursue. I have always wanted to help others in any way I can but experiencing the things I have seen in my fertility journey helped me find what I feel will be great for me. This journey led me to having the goal of becoming a postpartum / mother-baby nurse! The blog created by this postpartum nurse gives me insight as to what a shift could intel. I can see what I would be going into with this choice of career. In the blog post "A Day in t...

Post 3:Rosenberg's Strategies for Reading Scholarly Sources

When reading Rosenberg's essay " Reading Games: Strategies for Reading Scholarly Sources" the section "The introduction" is something that I understand and go by. As a reader I was always one to just skim through the introductions and not pay much attention to them. I did not utterly understand the importance of it. Rosenberg states "If the author is doing her/his job well, the introduction will not only summarize the whole piece, present the main idea, and tell us why we should care, but it will also often offer a road map for the rest of the article." (p. 216) The introduction is something that sets the essays up and will give you what you need to understand whatever it may be your reading. The introduction is used to set the tone to the essay. The section in which Rosenberg discusses the title is something that I can use to learn from. Rosenberg states "The title. As obvious as it sounds, pay attention to the title because it can convey a lot...

Post 2: "So You've Got a Writing Assignment," Corrine E. Hinton

In "So You've Got a Writing Assignment," Corrine E. Hinton offers writers many suggestions on her views that can apply to us. Of the 10 suggestions discussed suggestion number 3 sticks out the most to me. This suggestion is "Know Your Purpose and Your Audience". When starting a paper you should always know your purpose of it and understand it. You can't form the paper with the thesis and supporting details as it should be if you don't truly understand your purpose for the paper. Corrine E. Hinton states in "So You've Got a Writing Assignment," (22) "Audience is a critical component to any writing assignment , and realistically, one or several different audiences may be involved when you're writing a paper in college". I agree with this statement very much. K nowing your audience is a key factor in a successful paper. You want to be able to engage with the reader with information that can be understood and relatable to them...

Post 1: Intro to Chelsea

Hello to you all! My name is Chelsea Evans. I'm 26 years old. Next month I will have been married for 5 years to my husband. I work at a local eye doctor office in my hometown as the office manager for about 6 1/2 years now. I am starting my first semester of college with this class on my journey to becoming a R.N. in the future. I would describe myself as a sincere, thoughtful, and very adventurous person. I enjoy traveling to new places with my family. One of my favorite places to go would be Universal Studios in Orlando. I currently have a trip countdown going for another trip to Universal Studios in the next few weeks! Traveling to new places and meeting new people gives me something to look forward to and forever memories! I look forward to reading all of your Intro's and all of the knowledge to learning to write in this English Composition class we will gain. So here's to the start of our semester together!
